Settled
I am still pondering the meaning of a recent inquiry from a boy. He knows my history of job jumping and then he asked how old I was. I said 29, and then asked why he was asking these questions. He said that he wanted to know where I was at in my life. If I was settling down.
Settled??? When I hear the word settle, I think stagnate. I had to look up the word to decide if there was anything in the definition that suited me.
According to the definition (abbreviated to save some space):
settle
1 : to come to rest
2 a : to sink gradually or to the bottom b : to become clear by the deposit of sediment or scum c : to become compact by sinking
3 a : to become fixed, resolved, or established settled in his chest b : to establish a residence or colony <settled in Wisconsin> -- often used with down
4 a : to become quiet or orderly b : to take up an ordered or stable life -- often used with downsettle down>
I've put down roots here in the little blue dot. I am finding peace/clairity with certain aspects of my life. I still have some growing to do. I also realize that there are only so many things that we have control over in this world. One shake of the snowglobe is all it takes.
Aren't we all supposedly headed towards a state of disorder.
I think I will stick to my current plan. Knowing who I am, focusing on what I want to be, and enjoying the journey.
My response to the question? I guess I am as settled as a fiesty girl like me can be.
