Nude photography

So, I was awakened this morning at 4am with racing thoughts of nude photography. Recently, I was asked by a female friend to photograph her nude. The experience was exhilerating! It's one of those new artistic outlets that wakes me up at night, apparently. The human body is so gorgeous. I have been feeling a little lost lately and I think some of it might be due to pent up artistic energy. A couple years ago I was having similar feelings and took up knitting and later weaving. Neither of these hobbies was able to completely satiate me. However, this is more fresh, fun, and a little taboo. I get to combine my nursing and yoga body appreciation with a new artistic flair.

An additional perk is my inner feminist gets to scream, "Look at how beautiful and strong we are!" Women can do this now because we want to. We are not being exploited or forced into showing our bodies out of fear or necessity of money. A woman can empower herself with nude photography while aknowledging that she has an inner glow, even though only a small fraction of this beauty can be caught on film. We are strong, beautiful, independant, intelligent women. It was easy to remember all these wonderful things about women while pointing the camera. So remember this while dancing around naked while no one is looking. Our bodies are gifts so try to love them every day instead of pointing out the flaws. Ok, I guess I'll step off my soap box now.
